Credit Scoring

Improving My Credit Score

Improving My Credit Score Is My Priority

When Debbie and Mark tied the knot least did they expect life to be a challenge. Mark had his small business and so did Debbie. Trouble started when Mark had to close down his business due to tough competition and he couldn’t sustain himself in the market. His debts were piling up and he didn’t know what to do. Debbie kept the home fires burning and even helped Mark by lending some money. Mark with the help of his wife got rid of all his debts and started fresh by finding a job.. His credit scores by then were pathetic. He wondered, 'How can I improve my credit score and get back on track?"

His first step towards improving his credit score was to get a credit report from all the three credit bureaus: Experian, Trans Union and Equifax. It’s always wise to get all three reports and compare them. Next he checked for some errors on the report as this is a common occurrence. If yours is a common name then may have gotten mixed with some other person of the same name. On receiving your error free report look for the negative areas. Once you have identified the negative areas then it is easy to rectify and improve your credit score.

Improving your credit score is not an overnight affair. It takes time. Patience and perseverance are the most important virtues required to get back on track with an impressive credit score. Paying your bills on time can improve your credit score. Mark diligently repaid all his previous debts too. This added to his credibility.

Now Mark is a credit worthy person who is being chased by lenders for loans. Since improving his credit score became his top priority he is now in a position to buy his dream house and car. Though it has taken him a lot of hard work to improve his credit scores, he today feels it was well worth the effort.

To put it in easy terms, a good credit score is nothing but a term coined to suggest financial freedom. It gives freedom to buy that dream-house or that long-wished car and even be protected from certain financial risks. Freedom to choose, freedom to select, freedom to purchase and freedom to pay back, its all about freedom and isn’t that all we wish for?
